I Heart! Henry Holland

Over the Christmas period I had a wonder through Debenhams, personally I'm not a fan of Debenhams it's not somewhere I would choose to shop. However I stumbled across H! by Henry Holland.

I was excited when I first heard that Henry Holland would be in some Debenhams stores, but due to a comp shop I did in the Oxford Circus branch, I felt the store was messy and the H! by Henry Holland department was so small I never returned.

That is until I accidentally came across it in Cambridge. EVERYTHING  I picked up from the girlie tea dresses to the motif jumpers screamed buy me. So I instantly clicked follow on twitter for Mr Holland himself. Kept my eye's open to his fashion week shows and just simply became obsessed!

Now to my pure joy, he is featuring more and more in fashion magazines, such as LOOK and MORE.

London Fashion Week, is in progress and Henry's show has been and gone, with celebs such as Alexa Chung and Pixie Geldof gracing the front row.

This collection I didn't think seemed much like Henry Holland of the past, however the bright colours, feather sleeves and bold graphic print did have some elements, that I love from Henry himself.

I thought I would show you some of the pieces, I personally like from the collection. Leave some comments and tell me what you think.

This look reminds me of the MOD's. Love the checkered trousers. Look at those fur cuffs.

More! Magazine Network Night.

Last night, (13th February 2012) I attended an event that has motivated and given me the confidence to continue, with a dream I know a lot of girls have. This is to work in the Media Industry.

For all you guys out there who HAVEN'T got a degree such as myself, you may feel sometimes that having a degree is the only way to get the career of your dreams! I know especially from my own experience, I feel that I am missing out on skills and knowledge by NOT having a degree.

Saying this by attending last night we were given intoductory speeches from the Editor herself, and Creative Director of the publishing company Bauer Media. One of the first things mentioned was you MAY be inspired by something you hear tonight! I love a good bit of inspiration and they weren't wrong. You people without a degree DO NOT FRET! Last night the advice I was given was - Work experience is worth a lot more than a degree. Of course you guys WITH a degree should not fret either because it does get your foot in the door and it does give you skills and knowledge, so basically anyone with a bit of hard work and passion can achieve their dream of working in the Media Industry

The event was set out as speed dating (2 minutes is not long enough!) Where we could ask ANYTHING, it was loud, hot and above all exciting!

The More! Girls were lovely, inviting and very approachable by the time we left it felt like we all worked together anyway! We were given free wine and doughnuts (they know the way to a girls heart) and a lovely goodie bag at the end. However the freebies were not what we all went for! It was all about the advice and it was FLOWING!

Many girls took to twitter to discuss the challenge of "what to wear". I was going to show you my outfit, however as I am producing my blog through my phone I am finding it difficult to upload my pictures. So I will appologise for the lack of visuals!

Here are some tips many of us received last night, I hope they help you as much as they have me!

 Be chatty!
Try and enjoy everything (even the tea making)
Be different. Stand out!
Do relavent work experience
Try smaller Magazines or News Papers
Stay up to date with words and descriptions used by other magazines.
