My Discovery! Best thing to happen to the web!

StylistPick. com

We have all seen the advert with Cheryl Cole strutting here stuff in her exclusively designed shoes. So I made the decision to visit this site. Not only because I fell in love with the mahogany shoe boots which were advertised in the advert but also because I was curious with the idea.

They have a selection of Stylists who pick accessories (shoes, bags, scarves) for your personal taste. When you first visit the website you have to complete 10 questions regarding your style preference.

Which shoe do you prefer?
Who's style do you prefer?
How do you prefer your make up?
Simple questions that every girl knows about herself. Then you fill in your personal details. Shoe size? Name? etc.

After this you receive your "Style" mine was individual. Then they take up to 24 hours to bring together for you a complete collection of what you may or may not like. I haven't received my selection yet so I can't tell you my opinion.

You are given 25% off your first order (perfect) AND they have free postage and packaging! (Even more perfect.)

Not only has this website brought together the things girl need the most help with, but they have also brought together bloggers. They have a selection of bloggers featured on the site. They have even recently given their bloggers an exclusive sample sale! You have got to love them for that!

So take a look, fill out the questionnaire. I have a feeling this site is going to be my go to for accessories advice! Enjoy your 25% off. I know I can't wait to use mine!!

My selection,

They clearly new about my new animal print obsession. This is what I shall be using my 25% off on. They recommend you wear this bag with leather. From coat to skirt. Brilliant!

More animal print, but these are the reason I found Stylistpick.com.
They are also available without the leopard print detail which I do prefer as I think they are more versatile. Good job Cheryl Cole.

These were also apart of my personal selection and yes yes yes they got it spot on! I would personally wear these with some knitted tights and a little dress. Even the photograph makes me want to stroke them, they look extremely soft.

As I was trying to choose between a pair of shoes and bag to show you. I found THIS! Most websites have a "you may also like" and this was one of those moments and my goodness I LIKED! The feathers, the chain and the versatility you do not have to be a rock chick to rock this necklace! You could wear it with a cute vest and jeans add the above boots and BAM! You have a VERY! simple outfit but keeping up with lots of trends!

Hope you liked my personal selection. But don't forget these were chosen for my style. Your style may be very different to mine so go and have a look! I can guarantee you will find something you love.

Release the animal within!

I have discovered animal print! Yes it has been in our fashion paws for a VERY long time however up until now I haven't found my love for it!

Where it all started!

Until that is the moment I found some shoes that were leopard print and I couldn't take my eyes off them. Obviously I had to find a quick excuse as to why I NEEDED them and they were quickly amongst my shopping bags (doesn't take me long to find a "reason")

Since then I see everything with animal print and LOVE it. Of course it is only nice things I'm not really one for Leopard print quite literally everywhere.

Since then I have discovered Nail Wraps. They entered New Look and I was quick to investigate with some confusion I will admit! However these Nail Wraps are the easiest most stylish things I have ever found to put on my nails! What has this got to do with animal print? WELL! You can have zebra print (like me), Leopard print, Lips, Hearts, Gold, Silver, Some funky print with turquoise involved and they may take a long time but patience is key with this new trend you will soon get the hang of it!

Nail Wrap give it a go! Available from Boots, Superdrug, New Look

So yes kind bloggers my animal obsession has now been let lose on my nails. Too far?

I thought I would find some Catwalk Images to entice any animal print haters!
Enjoy x

Camden Market. A plcae that unites all Fashionista's

Camden brings everyone together whether your tall, short, British, European, a raver or a vintage flower. There are stalls, art, history, music and food all in a small square market place at very reasonable prices.

I had heard a lot about Camden from magazines, claiming it is the hotspot for North London yet until recently I had never been. I always thought of myself as a high street girl who when it came to sale, I would rather pay full price than rummage. However that all changed when I entered Camden.

Where graffiti covers the walls and people roam the streets, even when it's raining people are there enjoying what Camden has to offer. If your looking to become inspired for maybe an art or music project I would recommend you head down there.

I love vintage, I once did some work experience at VintageDeli.co.uk and loved it and ever since then something with lace or pastel colour and I'm your girl. So that part of Camden with the junk jewellery was perfect for me. But if your into dark almost costume clothing then you will not be dissapointed either. Even if your looking for an adult only shop of course Camden has it.

I took some photographs whilst on my visit to Camden it was absolutely crazy busy but I managed to get my way through the crowd and find some little gems that may just be on my Christmas list. Hope you enjoy and head down soon.

Which one do you like?

Be Brave, Be Daring

There were canvas's EVERYWHERE!

Now for a couple of peices I picked out for my personal taste. You may not all like what I picked but I want to show a little bit of me on my blog and I think these pieces really do show exactly what I'm into.

I adore blazer/jacktets. I really do think they add a very smart twist to somthing very casual. I would say my style is Classic and I love these two little numbers. They are super simple t-shirts but underneath the blazer they just look as though you could throw on a skirt in the summer jeans in the winter and hit the shops to find some more beautiful finds. I love it! What do you think?

Now for the jewellery, I love my long necklaces and these are something nice to look at. The camera sits diagonally on you, and I could just imagine all the people saying "I love your necklace" I know I would.

I tend to go for gold more than silver as I find it difficult to dress my wardrobe with silver jewellery so I saw this and instantly fell in love. It's a cute little bike and the chain doesn't twist while you wear it. I tend to try this out now as it has happened to me all too often.

This is the final necklace they are all similar apart from the differnet metal used but they all have something big at the bottom and this is what I like. I like to dress simple but maybe have one or two things that catch people's eye. Something subtle like a pair of shoes or in this case a necklace.

Now for my vintage find. This piece has detachable fur so if you like it with, like me or without you can have it just the way you like it. As I said Camden caters for all.

The print is shoes and although I didn't like the one with the cherry print the shoes are divine. In fact that whole stall had me fighting off not to buy something.

New Look Shoes Under £50.00

New Look have recently won a Company award for Best Shoes on the High Street under £50.

Whilst working in the Oxford Street Branch I see these gorgeous precious little beautys everyday and they take up a whole floor! Of course like most High Street stores New Look haven't got it right all the time and unfortunately some of the shoes aren't the most stylish of creations BUT! the majority look amazing!

Some of the shoes available on the web are better than in store as there are exclusive to the web only. So check out Newlook.co.uk and find an exclusive pair just for you.

I hope you enjoy the beautiful shoes and outfit ideas. Let me know!

Also available in Cobalt blue and a Sexy pink
These have only recently come into store and are on sale (yay!) They are £14.99 so will make a perfect present OR a little treat for yourself. It's a time of giving your allowed! The heel, the platform, the fact that with that sling back strap, I won't have to worry about my shoes slipping off is the perfect! I don't know about you but I really like cut out heels. I have a pair from Topshop and on a night out they are my go to shoes. I like that they are a bit rocky, they make an outfit more interesting when your little toes are peeping out the end and you can see your foot in all its glory. Rocky yet Classy. They are definitely on my wish list.

Hello rock stars. Welcome to New Look

I know the image isn't fantastic quality. These studded heels are only available online and although they are a bit pricey and over the £50.00 mark, I do not know how you are going to say no!! At £79.99  you can rock them with a red lacey dress with leather jacket, accesorise with a gold belt and you have a simple, rockstar going out outfit. Be prepared for the compliments to your feet though.

Another online exclusive.

These boots remind me of a pair very similar to Ted Bakers pair last year. Although these cost £37.99 they still look just as expensive and excellent quality of those reliable ones Ted created. Well Done New Look! Why not team these boots with a warm duffle coat, thick cable knit jumper and some straight cut jeans. Very understated but this outfit will take you right through the winter with those toes warm and dry! Also available in Grey and Red beautiful!

Hello Beauties!
Do you want to add some height to your outfit? Do you like the comfort of a wedge heel? Do you like the look of a sheep skin looking lining? YES! Well have a look at these bad boys. Did I mention they are £27.99. When you want to add a little extra to your outfit with something different, besides those boring knee high heeled boots that you have re-heeled every year, these sheep looking lined wedges are perfect! They are in store now. Very soft and will keep you warm on those long walks to Battersea at the weekends or a commute from King's Cross during the week days. Dress them with thick wooly tights, maybe a cute floral dress and a big wooly cardy. Don't forget to add a jacket so you don't freeze out there.

Please take a trip to your closest New Look store OR visit online, I guarntee you will find something you like. These are just some of my favourites hopefully you will find some more. Have fun keeping those feet happy.

Ready Steady COMMUTE!!

I have been saying I am going to do a street style post for ages!

So here it is. I thought instead of visting somewhere in London, I have never been before and looking for fashion savy followers in a new place, I thought I would visit somewhere I know VERY well. Somewhere that for two years I spent hours inpatiently waiting for trains and admiring many different people walk across that cold solid floor. So I visited King's Cross. Yes whilst at college I travelled from Norfolk to London most days! and some of the people I have admired there, were amazing!

Enjoy a bit of the commuter style.

Whilst taking photo's for this post, I filled my phones memory with photographs, had a VERY difficult conversation with a Japenese family (who by the way looked amazing), many commuters responded "I'm in a rush" and one very sweet French girl looked amazing but didn't understand my accent (Oh how it's hard being Norfolk). You don't get these experiences from Google Images.

As my hunt went a tad better than I thought I have chosen my favourite two! It was difficult to wittle down however these two were very gracious and although they were happy with the compliment they took it very well. Although I do think one text someone to let them know when I walked away (Hey! we would all do it!)

The winner for best dressed in King's Cross train station is....... (drumroll please)

This lovely gentleman walked through King's Cross doors and I INSTANTLY couldn't not look at him. His hair is AMAZING! you can't see from the photograph but on the top of his quiff he had a small flick think Umpa Lumpa in a stylish way! The colours he wore were very out there maybe for some people's taste and although I wouldn't personally where this sort of thing as I am much more understated I really do think this is a very stylish man! He made winter time look summery without making everyone freeze looking at him. CONGRATULATIONS KING'S CROSS STYLISH COMMUTER!

My second favourite dresser was a very elegant lady who when I started talking about my blog was so excited she did a small squel yes this is what happens when people know about Modele-et-mode. So here she is!

Although this photo doesn't show she was also wearing a black pleated maxi skirt with heeled boots. I really do think that although this outfit looks simple and understated the leopard print scarf and bowlers hat really make this outfit stand out from many of the commuters.

Well done commuter winners you really both did stand out from the commuter crowd.

Next street style post will be somewhere in London I have never been. Watch out London I'm on a fashion hunt I'm coming for you!!

Made In Chelsea

I recently took a trip down the well known King's Road in Chelsea. It wasn't my first time down this iconic road however I don't know what it was this time it felt more special. Perhaps it was because there were more people or maybe it was the winter Christmas feel. Personally I think it was the FASHION.

From the shop fronts to the beautifully dressed women down this road, it was incredible! Everyone looked so shiny and new all wrapped up in their big scarves and little red noses!

All the time I was walking I just kept thinking O' how I wish I could stop you and take your picture unfortunately it was far to busy and if I had stopped some of the women the whole path would of come to a flying holt! (Sorry to disappoint there is a street style post coming soon)

We were actually heading to Battersea Park another extraordinary view, if you haven't ever visited I would highly recommend it. You enter the gate and you feel a thousand miles away from anything London. It's gorgeous. We went on a beautiful autumn day the leaves seemed extra brown and yellow and the air was extra crisp. Very romantic.

If you are looking for a dog, head to Battersea park I could of chosen any breed I wanted we even saw a Miniature Chiwawa, which by the way was so small I'm unsure how exactly his owner hasnt lost him by now.

I know this post isn't overly fashion but this time of year regular folk do not have the disposable cash to go spending so I thought I would let you in on some nice (free) places to go. It's a day out where you will have fun and it doesn't have to be warm because you warm up while walking.

Hope you enjoy Battersea and King's Road as much as I did.

It's Christmas Time!! well almost!

The Christmas music is on at work, the weather is getting colder (well sort of) and the Christmas Lights are up on most High Streets so as it is almost that time of the year again and I'm in the Christmas spirit extra early here's a Christmassy post!

Not so long ago I had to do a late night at New Look, we had to put the Christmas decorations up and I was beyond excited, to increase my Christmas mood even more, I took a stroll to Selfridges to view their world famous Christmas window's. They are amazing! from the frosted windows to the mice placed in such a specific way you feel you have entered wonderland just by looking inside. Try using the interactive window stickers where you can control the Christmas music box inside. It's magical!

This post I'm going to take you on a trip down Oxford Street and show you the magically windows from other High Street stores. Although Selfridges will not be appearing in this post. They are too magical you need to see them yourself.

New Look Christmas window!

I can't take the credit for this one, unfortunately I was ill when it was created however the floor is uber glittery and the chandelier catches the light to bring in the party feel. Come in take a look at what beautiful pieces you can pick up perfect for that party season. Don't forget to look at the Visual merchandising, you might be impressed.

Topshop
Topshop

This theatrical window scheme is another that makes you think you have walked into a Christmas dream. In store the mannequins are wearing spike and studded masks, a tree which takes over the store with it's long white vines. The window mannequins seem like they are getting ready to perform at a ballet or Christmas performance. This window is definitely not a pantomime performance.

H&M

The Versace collaboration was crazy there were people everywhere and plastic credit cards were flying from every luxury purse going! The window's are spectacular. My only negative is that they only wear one eyelash? I can't explain to you why because I myself do not have the answer. Personally I think they look unfinished.

House Of Fraser.

I had the opportunity to do some work experience in House Of Fraser and their Visual team were not happy with the positioning of their window's and I must agree! I always seem to walk past the actually creative section and simply see advertisement for make up and then I found this little Christmas beauty tucked in the corner. Although I think the positioning works really well! You see the lights perfectly and it is in a large space so you really feel the Christmas spirit!

John Lewis
The window just like the John Lewis advert is simple yet effective! I don't know about you but I want to jump in the window and play in the snow hiding around the tree's.

Zara
This is another window where my personal opinions mean I often don't go into the store. I am always told that the window is the first thing the customer see's. This more autumnal window is not what I call Christmas, maybe this isn't their final Christmas creation but the gold in their hair and leaves on the floor make me think something is missing. Hopefully it will improve when Christmas comes closer it will improve.

Hope I have spread the Christmas feel! I know it's early but the High Street window's are too good for others to miss out. LONG LIVE THE BRITISH HIGH STREET!

The Rut. The Rest. THE CHAT!

By the title you may be thinking what on earth is this blogger going on about. Well please allow me to explain. My new post is a post about Inspiration!

Balenciaga (Google Image)
Fashion is an inspiring subject, one photograph of the up and coming designs every 6 months form the trends and inspire, bloggers, designers, young people, old people to talk, write, tweet and create something out of one simple photograph.

This is exactly the attitude my dad gave me on a trip home from Norfolk. Recently I have been stuck in a rut. It happens to everyone I know I'm not any different to anyone else but it took a trip home and being very poorly to make me realise that I'm living in a city where I get inspired every day. Whether I'm sitting on the tube reading the Metro or I'm comp shopping in Oxford Street. I see or hear something which makes me think wow! everyday.

I would love you all to get involved and let me and everyone else know who are your inspirations? Maybe it's a celebrity, your mum, your brother? It could be anyone maybe even more than one!!

Here are mine.

I ALWAYS get inspired by my mum and dad they walk into a room and talk to ANYONE and I mean ANYONE! They are the kindest people I know. Of course some say I have to say that but I know that's not the case. They believe in me and my brothers and even now my boyfriend because they want whats best for us and see the opportunities we have on offer. I look at them and get inspired to one day become a parent like them. I'm not saying I agree with everything they say and do, we often have our disagreements but when I have children I will teach them as they do me, to believe in myself and in my dads case make me '' find my balls''! Thanks mum and dad for inspiring me to create this post AND believing in us to become bigger and better with bigger balls!

Whilst at The Fashion Retail Academy we had many inspiring talks from different members of the fashion industry. Sir Phillip Green (Arcadia Businessman), Alexandra Shulman (British Vogue Editor) and Karren Brady (Business Woman). At the moment Karren is gracing our screens in Junior Apprentice. However she was the MD of  Birmingham City football club and is now my role model! She spoke to us regarding motivation it was nearing the end of the course and she was there to motivate and inpire us to finish and succeed. I was a meer face in a sea of people however I took from that talk so much that Karren herself doesn't know although I hope she appreciates it. She rocked up with her GORGEOUS Chanel bag and nervously took to the microphone. She may have been nervous to begin with but she knew how to talk to a crowd. She spoke of how women shouldn't be out done by men (not that I'm some feminist) but she also spoke of her experiences. From the man at the counter of the football who didn't believe she was MD of the club and wouldn't allow her to sit in the private box to the press saying she was too young to have such a big role. She made me think that no matter who tells you, you can't do something they are wrong because you can and if it doesn't work the first time try again! Never give up trying just because it doesn't work first attempt. Many business minded people head out with a big plan and it doesn't work there is no shame in giving up but Karren taught me to try 100% before you decide it's time to give up.

Thank you Karren. (Google Image)

Along the way you will meet some inpiring people, this is only 2, my list is endless and would love to write a little something about everyone. Don't take people for granted learn from their experience. Someone once told me the only way to learn is to listen, listen to the good listen to the bad and take something out of each bit information.

Thanks dad! Your chat worked!

Twitter went in to overload this week with the exciting launch party for H&M and Versace collaboration. Although I wasn't there I am extremely excited the prints the shapes the NAME!
It's a chance for normal girls like me to get the designer name of Versace, H&M always seem to hit the right note with designer collaborations. First Lanvin now Versace. Who next?

The images you may have seen in EVERY publication and billboard they themselves, I think are attractive to look at and definitely do the job of building up a storm! So this coming Thursday be in the queue (hopefully i'll be there!) 9AM to get your piece of heaven.

New Blog (ish) Christmas come early!

  • The name has changed (anyone wondering it's French)
  • The look WILL be different when I finish.
  • The followers haven't changed (why would I want to lose them!)
  • The content will change, there will be more posts regularly about things you will find interesting.

Little bit about me and my blog!

Welcome to Modele-et-mode. French for Style and Fashion.

I have started a new job at New Look Oxford Street Flagship Store as a Visual Merchandiser (come and visit me sometime), I style the mannequins every day. The mornings are early and the some of the nights are really long, but other than that I really love it!

I will post pictures of my creations because I am very proud of them. The mannequins are slowly becoming like my babies, I chat and shout at them but at the end of the day if they are dressed I am happy and they are happy.

I would love to progress into Styling and later Creative Directing. I have only just started my Career but hopefully with a some hard work, style and a personality I do hope I will get far.

I will let you know how it goes.

Hope you enjoy the posts, pictures and maybe the odd joke who knows!
